Position Type - Full Time
Salary Range - $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 Salary/year

Job Description
Missouri has over 500,000 adults who have not completed their high school degree and not completing a high school degree represents a potential loss of income of approximately $400,000 over the working life of an individual and more than doubles the likelihood an individual lives in poverty. In 2017 MERS Goodwill was selected by MO DESE to be create and operate four adult high schools in Missouri: Columbia, Poplar Bluff, Springfield, and St. Louis. The Missouri Goodwill Excel Centers opened in 2018 and offer MO residents who are 21 or older the chance to attend high school classes in order to complete the 24 credits required in order to graduate with a high school degree in Missouri. Classes are taught by MO certified teachers, are available morning, afternoon and evening, and dual credit courses are available so that students can begin earning credit toward college. Students are also able to earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as phlebotomy, pharmacy tech, Microsoft certifications, etc. Those IRCs can be used as elective credit, as can any remediation the student requires.
Position Overview
The Goodwill Excel Center Site Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the Center and supervises teachers, life coaches, college and career readiness counselors, and the preschool director. The director will work with community partners and with the marketing department to advertise, recruit, and enroll students. Directors work with the superintendent and other directors to create and support relationships with colleges and employers to make sure that industry-recognized credentials are available to students and valued by employers in the local labor market.

Primary/Essential Functions
- Provides a positive learning environment for adult learners
- Ensures appropriate coverage in all areas of the Excel Center, (Teachers, Daycare, etc.)
- Develops and implements strategies, goals and objectives for learners and teachers
- Work with Excel Coaches, teachers and other Excel Center Directors to address outside social needs that impact learning
- Participate in the overall development of Educational strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Education required, Master’s Degree or Doctorate preferred
- 3 years of experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, or Principal or Assistant Principal preferred
- 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written skills required
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of students, staff and co-workers
- The director should have experience in managing staff, student relationships, and community relationships.
- Must be able to demonstrate creativity in recruiting and in the delivery of education to an adult population in an accelerated format.
