Director - Career and Technology Center (CTC)
Purpose Statement
The job of Director - Career and Technology Center (CTC) is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for directing overall site operations, services, and staff at the Career and Technology Center; providing students with information on career and/or post high school educational opportunities and serving as a resource to others; enforcing established policies and regulatory requirements; coordinating school activities and addressing issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students; and developing funding resources for existing and proposed programs and/or services.
This job reports to the Assistant Superintendent - Educational Services
 
Essential Functions
  • Chairs meetings (e.g. curriculum, safety, site advisory, special district committees, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating activities and ensuring that outcomes achieve school, district and/or state objectives.
  • Collaborates with a variety of parties (e.g. district personnel, community organizations, businesses, etc.) for the purpose of securing funding to maintain and enhance services and/or programs.
  • Coordinates all program related grant processes (e.g. evaluations, budget, finance, reports, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with the district and funder guidelines for program-related grants.
  • Delegates responsibility for a variety of administrative functions to Assistant Director, Counselor, and other personnel for the purpose of managing the workload more efficiently.
  • Develops budgets and financial forecasts for the purpose of providing financial guidance and recommendations to administrative personnel, Superintendent and/or governing board.
  • Evaluates assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized.
  • Facilitates communication between personnel, community and outside agencies, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
  • Implements policies, procedures and/or processes for the purpose of providing direction and/or complying with mandated requirements.
  • Manages school administrative functions (e.g. facility maintenance, budget, staffing, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining safe and efficient school operations within district guidelines.
  • Monitors the financial management of grants (e.g. budget preparation, budget adjustments, expenditures, etc.) for the purpose of complying with all program and funding guidelines of awarding organizations.
  • Oversees the management of student behavior issues for the purpose of maintaining a positive educational atmosphere and ensuring that student behavior issues are handled in a safe, effective, positive and compliant manner.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops, and committees (e.g. university/college conferences, class visits, community service group meeting, chamber of commerce and business associations meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with program guidelines.
  • Prepares a wide variety of materials (e.g. quantity reports, student activities, correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Presents information (e.g. budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, program needs, career opportunities, industry needs, funding sources, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback, ensuring adherence to established internal controls, and maintaining ongoing support for educational goals.
  • Researches alternate funding sources for the purpose of maintaining the efficient operation of the center and developing additional funding of programs and administrative operations, and serving as a clearinghouse for potential grant funding opportunities.
  • Supervises instructional and other school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of school's curriculum.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
