The Orchard Farm School District is seeking a Coordinator of Alternative Student Programs to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year! The Coordinator will supervise the day-to-day activities of the Alternative Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Appropriate academic preparation to serve as a Coordinator for At-Risk students in an Alternative Program setting. Experience with interventions for at-risk students, knowledge of trauma informed supports, experience working with community agencies, experience working with mental health professionals, and interpersonal communication skills to promote effective interactions with administrators, teachers, counselors, parents/guardians and students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the Alternative Program and Substance Abuse Intervention Program.
- Model and promote the use of Crisis Intervention techniques while working with students and staff.
- Coordinate efforts to link students with wrap around supports, including mental health needs.
- Work with student discipline.
- Attend IEP meetings, 504 meetings, Manifestation meetings, Building problem solving meetings, as appropriate.
- Work with building staff to develop early intervention strategies.
- Expand program components which enhance resiliency. Develop and facilitate transition to schools and career plans.
- Work collaboratively with program staff to plan student schedules and communications with parents.
- Monitor and facilitate enrollment and participation in the above mentioned programs.
- Supervise Alternative Program staff.
- Determine staffing needs and participate in interviews for new staff.
- Facilitate collaboration.
- Plan and facilitate meaningful Professional Development opportunities.
- Attend Administrator meetings.
- Facilitate faculty meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or by the Superintendent of Schools.
- Perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
- Plan and manage projects; using pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and administering personnel policies.
- Perform algebra and/or geometry; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
- Use pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; conflict resolution; bookkeeping principles, and concepts of management and supervision.
- Schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment.
- Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods.
- Work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize job-related equipment.
- Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.
- Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate.
- Communicate with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; setting priorities; working as part of a team; working with frequent interruptions; creating a positive school climate for students, staff and community; motivating staff; and adapting to changing work priorities.
- Work independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives.
