POSITION: AEL Clerk (Part-Time) 

LOCATION: Adult Education & Literacy Office
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent (years of post-secondary education may substitute for one year of clerical experience). One year of experience. Preferred typing at 45 wpm (words per minute). Preferred knowledge of basic accounting principles & Google Suite.

REPORTS TO: Adult Education Coordinator                                               
 
EXAMPLE (S) of WORK PERFORMED:
  • Enter student instructional hours and contact students for enrollment
  • Enroll the online administer locator test and the reading pre-test for all new students
  • Update class rosters and share with the AEL coordinator
  • Send students invites for Thursday sessions with AEL Office Clerk
  • Upload and check accuracy of all data uploaded into system on Wednesdays
  • Create paper folders for each student and save sign-in sheets.
  • Check supplies and communicate to coordinator all needed classroom or testing supplies place orders on Wednesday
  • Enter all ESL data on Thursday
  • Close and secure AEL Center when necessary
  • Manage LACES data and discuss anomalies with the AEL coordinator
  • Keep storage areas clean and neat
  • Manage the AEL soda machine, keeping it full at all times
  • Assist with the AEL graduation ceremony when necessary
  • Assist Coordinator with all reporting and writing
  • Create payroll timesheets for all employees yearly
