Qualifications:

Education Level: Master’s Degree in Special Education or Administration
Certification.  Must hold a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
Experience: Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience.

Job Requirements:

General Summary: The School Behavior Intervention and Support Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing behavior intervention programs aimed at supporting students with behavioral challenges, including both general education and special education students. This role involves conducting behavioral and skills assessments, designing individualized treatment plans, and ensuring the successful implementation of interventions to achieve educational and behavioral goals. Performance Responsibilities include:
  • Conducts behavioral and skill assessments and designs behavioral treatment programs for students in both general education and special education for the purpose of carrying out and achieving goals and objectives.
  • Communicates effectively and makes recommendations to staff and outside professionals, groups, or individuals.
  • Maintains respect and confidentiality for all students.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of effective behavioral programs and curriculum for the purpose of providing favorable outcomes for children with behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of developing appropriate IEPs and placements for students with significant behavioral deficits and improving the overall quality of student outcome.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to implement and maintain programs and services.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of resolving issues, providing information and/or direction.
  • Ability to transport daily via personal transportation to various district sites.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor. All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the evaluation process.
