ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Serve as a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet by participating in regularly scheduled meetings with the leadership team of the district. Report back to the Superintendent through regularly scheduled meetings on progress related to goals and job responsibilities as they connect to the CSIP goals, outcomes, strategies, and action steps.
  2. Collaborate with the Superintendent and other district leaders to align operational strategies with overall district goals.
  3. Attend and participate in regular and special meetings of the Board of Education (BOE). Prepare and submit recommendations, reports, and information to the BOE for the administering of the district budget, financial policies and procedures, tax rate information for residents, financial reports, audit findings, construction reports, and other information as needed.
  4. Collaborate with the Executive Director of Finance to continuously analyze the district’s financial condition for the purpose of ensuring the availability of resources to meet current and future strategic objectives.
  5. Review contracts and projects for the purpose of providing direction and support, making recommendations, maximizing use of funds, and/or ensuring overall operations are within budget.
  6. Oversee development of the annual budget, revenue and expenditures projections, enrollment, and long-range facilities plans for the purpose of managing the district’s fiscal responsibilities.
  7. Approve various budgetary functions for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory and administrative requirements.
  8. Direct the development of tax levies, bond projects, bond approval, and bond issuance for the purpose of providing information and general support.
  9. Oversee completion of assigned program and/or departmental responsibilities for the purpose of achieving organizational objectives and ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and district requirements. Collaborate with direct reports to ensure achievement of district goals and responsibilities, delegating tasks effectively when appropriate.
  10. Provide direct oversight of the directors and supervisors in finance, transportation, food service, maintenance, and Rickman auditorium.
  11. Develop and implement strategic plans and operational policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of district operations across all departments.
  12. Attend and participate in collective bargaining meetings and processes directing the discussion on financial issues, and oversee the development of related salary schedules.
  13. Oversee and manage the district’s bidding process.
  14. Oversee the district’s facility usage program.
  15. Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels regarding the operations of the district.
  16. Ensure the effective management of safe, reliable transportation and quality food service programs that meet student needs as well as all state and federal requirements.
  17. Guide the maintenance director in overseeing the upkeep and improvement of school facilities, including Rickman Auditorium.
  18. Coordinate the implementation of the district crisis plan and manage the district crisis team. Assist the district and buildings with crisis situations, tactical, security and emergency plans.
  19. Maintain and review comprehensive safety and security protocols in collaboration with the safety team, revising as needed. Work with local law enforcement and safety agencies to ensure the security of students and staff.
  20. Lead emergency preparedness initiatives and foster a culture of safety within the district. Act as a key liaison for safety and security between the district administration, building/department supervisors, staff, and the community.
  21. Ensure the district policies remain compliant with the Safe Schools Act and other new or existing school safety legislation.
  22. Collaborate with building administration and law enforcement to supervisor, direct the work of, and assist security officers and SROs at each school as needed.
  23. Supervise the athletic directors, providing guidance and support in the management of all activity and athletic programs.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Degree in accounting, business, educational administration, or related field is required; CPA, MBA, or Missouri administrator or superintendent certification preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years management/administrative experience with increasing levels of responsibility required; 3 years of management/administrative experience in a school setting preferred.
  3. Demonstrated experience managing budgets related to a school district or other entity.
