Building Administrator 


 Annual Salary: $63,840.00
This position is responsible for the instructional and administrative leadership of a local school program for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The incumbent must have the ability to perform the essential functions below, either with or without reasonable accommodations.
  1. Direct the development and implementation of appropriate individualized instructional programs for students that comply with state and federal statutes and MSSD policies and procedures.
  2.  Maintain an age-appropriate, safe, orderly, attractive, and clean learning environment.
  3.  Supervise implementation of behavior support plans for students.
  4.  Coordinate off-campus instruction.
  5.  Participate in eligibility, IEP, and other special education meeting.
  6.  Assure effective management of building-level fiscal responsibilities.
  7.  Provide for efficient, effective day-to-day management of personnel, transportation, and building operations.
  8.  Supervise, evaluate, and discipline staff according to established guidelines.
  9.  Participate in recruiting, retaining, and development of building staff.
  10.  Plan, implement, and participate in professional development activities.
  11. . Promote a positive school climate.
  12.  Assign students, staff, and volunteers to classrooms.
  13.  Facilitate effective team working relationships.
  14.  Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
  15.  Plan and conduct faculty and collaboration meetings through regular review of instructional data.
  16.  Promote positive relationships with parents, area LEA, agencies, and businesses in the communities.
  17.  Maintain effective interpersonal relationships by treating others with respect and dignity.
  18.  Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity  and consistency of thought.
  19.  Maintain flexibility by fully cooperating with change.
  20.  Follow policies and guidelines of the MSSD program.
  21.  Follow student-specific special health care procedures as trained by the school nurse.
  22.  Participate in Parent Teacher Organization.
  23.  Maintain confidentiality of parent, student, and staff personally identifiable information.
  24.  Complete a professional development plan as required by certification or new employee status and accept supervision.
  25.  Handle stressful situations.
  26.  Regularly communicate with the Area Director about issues in the school.
  27.  Make hot-line reports of any suspected abuse or neglect of students.
  28.  Regular and reliable attendance at the school.
  29.  Lift and move 50 pounds to include assisting in changing and repositions students.
  30.  Perform computer functions for administrative and instructional purposes.
  31.  Perform other duties as assigned.
  32.  Travel may be assigned as needed.
  33.  Infrequent travel for training and staff meetings.
  34.  Must maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification as specified by MSSD.
  35.  Must maintain certification in crisis prevention and management as specified by MSSD.

Certification as education administrator. 
Administrative experience .
