Job Description:
The Knob Noster School District is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as an ELL Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year.
The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse professional knowledge, a vision of excellence, a student-centered focus, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
The ELL teacher is responsible for monitoring the academic and social progress of all ELL students and serves as an advocate for both the students and their families when dealing with school personnel and community agencies and resources. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: monitors and facilitates all State and Federal required testing for ELL students; identifies and screens students who speak or understand two or more languages; completes required state and district paperwork for ELL students; provides building principals and teachers with updates on ELL students; monitors language and academic progress of individual ELL students; serves as a resource to classroom teachers in modifying lessons for ELL students; works with ELL students to promote English acquisition; supports overall academic progress by providing language support for other classes; provides positive feedback and encouragement for students; facilitates an environment that promotes inter-cultural understanding, improved oral and written English skills, academic success, social growth, and well-being of all students; participates on building teams identifying special needs of ELL students; organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child; assesses student progress, provides students and parents with specific feedback, and uses the results to adjust instruction as needed; serves as a communication link between school and home; serves as a model for appropriate interactions. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervising administrators. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Certification: Missouri teacher certification, TEFL/ESL/ELL Certification. Experience: Experience working with English language learners (ELLs) of all grade levels (preferred).
